I'm looking to host some WEB services and wondered what recommendations people might have for a free server. It will be hosted on a virtual Linux box that is currently running Apache. I am currently looking at Axis2. Any thoughts, comments, suggestions appreciated.

I'm a bit dim at this time of the morning, but are you looking for a free Java application server? (As you seem to already have a host providing you with Linux and Apache.)Originally posted by OrangeHopper View PostI'm looking to host some WEB services and wondered what recommendations people might have for a free server. The host is completely under my control. I can put whatever I want on it.Comment

Apache Tomcat is the most widely used. Not necessarily the lightest or fastest but good enough.Originally posted by OrangeHopper View PostYep. It has to be freebee.

Jetty is very lightweight but doesn't have as many bells and whistles as Tomcat.
If you want to go for full a blown J2EE app server then there's JBoss, Glassfish and Geronimo amongst many others.
