    Renaming multiple photos

I have a couple of hundred photos in a folder which I would like to rename sequentially starting from 001.

Is there a quick way I can do this within Windows without having to manually rename each photo individually?

if you do a google you'll find dozens of utilities which will do this or similar...

....or, it would take about 15 mins to write your own...

Yes, select all files in the folder, rename the first one, all others will be renamed sequentially.

Or use InfantView for more options ..

"Sequential renumbering is the only thing Explorer can do, and that's what you wanted -- view the files in Explorer, sort by "Date taken", select all, bulk rename. That should do it. (I don't think you want the DIR command loading shell extensions.) -Raymond"

Sort of thing I tend do in Excel with VBA. If you haven't sorted it I could post link to an Excel file rename thingy.
