      Perhaps too late now, but I wonder if Lotus Symphony may have been another option. Apparently based on OO but I hear somewhat improved.

        So the problem is everyone else is using Windows, and you are having compatibility issues because you insist on making life 'easier' using a Mac? Wouldn't it be simpler just to run Windows at work? Or, run Windows through your Mac when you particularly need it?

        Forcing yourself to use Office on the Mac just because you paid for it seems the least sensible option.
