    Win Server 2003 Std

Can anyone point me to a location I can get this for a reasonable price?

I only need it as a VMware box to test some software, so I'm loath to shell out £400-500 on it.

Would a trial suffice for your needs?

You can also download time-limited Virtual PC images (VHD files) from the Microsoft site.
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?

Microsoft Technet. All you can eat Buffet suite software for a reasonable sum of money.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

            Maps...

Your best bet is to subscribe to the Microsoft Action Pack; this will cost you about £200 per year but you get a whole host of software for internal use; you get something like 10 Vista licenses, 10 Full Office Suite licenses, Win 2003 Std and a whole lot more. You will also receive quarterly update packs containing all the latest releases; well worth the money.

            Check it out here...

You have to pass an exam to be a partner now. Although if you can't pass the exam, you should really consider a career in government.

Yes that is true, you do need to take a couple of exams but they are all free and online; you get to pick from a number of exams and most are quite simple. I'm an Oracle techie with only a little knowledge of MS tools and I passed easily with just a little research before taking the tests.

However, I just checked the MAPS site and it now shows Windows 2008 Server rather than 2003 so I'm not sure if it still includes 2003. I signed up about 18 months ago and at that time Win2003 was included.

                Still worth a look though.

Nope, the only 2003 server product in the current action pack is the web edition....

I did the web dev exam for this and was quite suprised at the depth they went to, should be no trouble though if you are any good or realise that you can run another instance of IE in the background with msdn on hand.
