Just look at jobserve, lucky to get over 30k as permie or £8/hour as a contractor programmer these days.

Anyone saying they're on anything over 200 a day as a programmer is lying. Trust me. We don't get called code monkeys for nothing. Bottom of the food chain.
Depends what you program dear chap....

I can heartily recommend .net because it will keep you well away from my little niche...

        WHS.

Although I guess it depends on what you mean by a programmer - if you're determined to stick to coding and stay completely away from analysis, project management, politics etc, then you probably would be lucky to get more than 200 without the benefit of a niche skillset.

Admit it guys, there's no money in contracting. The only reason we do it is because we can't stand the permie managers for any length of time.

Anyone thinking of getting into contracting, just look at the news. Even BT are laying off thousands of us, and they're one of the slowest moving dinosaurs in the industry. Much safer in permiedom, where there's more job security. Trust me.

Contractors saying they need to find a niche (yet are so protective they daren't tell us what that niche is in fear of getting swamped!) to earn decent money, just proves my point.

I'd get a permie job tomorrow if they'd have me. Keep failing the psycho analysis interview.
Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Hence I'm no longer in the north. Or south, or east or west.

It doesn't prove your point. It proves a point, but not yours.

So how could I have worded it to prove my point?
