Right Step 1. go to the google search entry box (this is a rectangular white area next to some writing (multi-coloured) that says Google) and type in-------------------Oh! I give up

Yes, specific files.. But you can't just drop them onto a disc and expect it to be boot able..

Boot into Linux, k3b it can burn iso images to disk.

If you want to boot a linux distro from a USB stick instead check out unetbootin... works a treat!
