Politicians are wonderfull people, as long as they stay away from things they don't understand, like working for a living! -
The best books are by the Open Group themselves:

I haven't bothered with TOGAF certs - ITIL is enough for me at the moment. I just say 'am aware of, and work to TOGAF* principles' on my CV. That seems to be enough for me...
*The fact that I know what TOGAF stands for impresses pimps immensely
