Have no idea about software, but I did once see a little usb thingy that went bekween the keyboard and the usb port that logged keystrokes...

A mate put a keylogger on his ex's machine during his divorce. I will ask him the details.

He also tapped her phone too...

I'm not 100% but I'm sure tapping someone's phone is illegal, not sure about key logging but sounds like a massive invasion of privacy.

Where do you draw the line of acceptable? I know if someone did either of those things to me I'd be furious and I'd take them to court.

They never found the phone tap. The pc was taken to an "expert" who found the key logger - it sent the emails to another email account - my mate had used his own name!

He said someone else created it to frame him - they had no proof.

The moral aspects are very different. I have found that most men have not got a clue of the issues involved or the right way about solving them. However if you think the courts are the right way of solving anything you still have alot to learn my young paduan friend.

It's either the courts or giving someone a good kicking. Think I'd prefer not to end up in court as the suspect ...

Appreciate where you're coming from, and sure your heart is in the right place but as a rule I'd tend to stick within the law. Usually it's in place for a good reason.

Apologies for my earlier sarcastic reply - I was just in a bad mood - you are right.

<offers firm handshake>

IIRC there was a bit of fuss a couple of years back where all Dell laptops had a hardware keylogger installed. If you've got one of these models, perhaps you can send it the appropriate codes to download what you're after.
