    Shared repository

Working at clientco with two other companies – around 10 people all-in.

Lots of rapidly changing documents – not taking up a lof of space though (couple of gigs should literally cover all repository needs).

Looking for a web-based shared document area – something like Oracle I-Projects (which we have, but not allowed to use as ear-marked for another project – don’t ask).

Anyone know of any such shared repositories that are web-based that are either freeware and secure, or, we could rent out for a couple of months?

Does your client/employer have any licences for Windows Server ('Yes' I would imagine)? Then they already own a licence for Windows SharePoint Services (WSS).

Have a quick look at CVS. It might do what you need.

Sharepoint is ideal for the project needs – gives 5 gigs, so just what we need.

Security chap blew a gasket though.

            This place is nuts.

We need, as in really need a shared workspace for a small, but high profile piece of work with directors eyes on us. We have one. Told that wrong project, I cannot use the darned thing. Hence looking at an alternative.

Security chap is bang on the money saying we should use the one we already have, but not sure if he is alright about taking on the senior guy who said we cannot play with his ball.

Hence a political war has begun…….

                Google brings back many results.

I was after suggestions of those to look and, and avoid so I could take a targetted shortlist to the table

Is there anything you do at work that you doesn't require a consensus of opinion from CUK?
