What are the best books for Sybase, if you already have experience on other databases ?

oh Sybase -- top product! Since Microsoft had it licensed for a long time and still use Transact SQL pretty much anything will do as products are very similar (SQL wise, admin might be different).
IMO any person with experience of databases will pick TSQL fast and without books -- everything is available online, and by that I don't mean emule.

..aha good tip, so if understand correctly Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase are really the same
I saw a book which basically did both Sybase and SQL Server, and I was puzzled.Comment

Microsoft used to license Sybase's stuff until I think version 2000, which was complete (and pretty good) rewrite. It is possible they still use some code however, but this is less likely for upcoming Yukon. Because of that fundamental dependency they both use TSQL, so there is a very good compatibility between two products.
Anyhow, why Sybase? They used to be big in the City, but now they are dieing certain death, shame since they had solid product with decent price that did not rip you off. :rolleyesComment

...yes that's true and this particular now uses Oracle for any new applications so Sybase is simply for legacy stuff, but then there's a lot of legacy code around. Some departments have switched from Sybase to Oracle, though.
Good chance to pick up a bit of exerience as you often see Sybase in the adverts.
