Budget Laptop

I'm looking at purchasing a budget laptop and have come down to the Toshiba Sat Pro A10 and the Acer Aspire 1353.

I know people with Toshibas and most are happy with them. I know nobody who has an Acer.

Anyone here with any experience of Acer machines, esp. build quality/reliability.

The cheapest laptops can be had down the pub, or if you have the nerve, by nicking one from work.

I have used an Acer Aspire (can't remember the model number but it was a budget one) and it was fine if not a bit chunky. No issues.

Acer used to be good but they really gone down, I'd go for some OEMs like Asus, Mitak even - their stuff is being relabelled by Dells, HPs etc - no point to pay premium for brand if you dont care about it.
