I bought a second-hand Samsung S8 recently rooted with Odin for gaming and other general purposes. Last night, the device's screen suddenly turned on while it was connected to the charger and still it stays the same. I tried several times turning off and turning on the device but no result. Assuming this would be a result of root access, I unrooted the device but no result. Any idea to fix this issue?

You say this happened while connected to the charger, and I assume charging was taking place. On disconnecting from the charger, does the screen turn off?
Can you use the phone as normal despite the screen timeout not activating?
You may have a Developer Options somewhere in settings with a Stay Awake option while charging.
Have you installed any new apps recently that may be keeping the phone awake?
Is the phone OS at its latest patch level?Comment

I'd buy a new phone if I were you. What with this and your Bluetooth issue either you've dropped it down the toilet or it's a truly rubbish phone."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

I may have one going spare, really, really tiny scratch on the screen, hardly noticeable. Like new really.
Good price?

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

Indeed.
I'm surprised that Amy is asking such basic questions as she appears well versed in the smartphone world..."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."
