    Mini segway things. Any experience?

Youngest teenager is pestering for one of these mini segways. He says he's found them on Alibaba for around £150 which sets the alarm bells ringing looking at the other prices.

I'm not a gadget man but it appears to me this is just a short term fad and won't be around for long. They also look decidedly unsafe, particularly for pavement use.

Anyone else got any experiences or thoughts beyond 'Get with it granddad'?

I've read that they're not legal for use on road or pavement on some sites but I am not deterred by it, I'm after one for myself and £150 does sound about right to me as they're being made for less and sold at double in the UK even treble on some sites. They also mark quite easily but have been all the rage in China for the last 18 months allegedly, personally I'd just go for it but then I've always been one for buying gadgets

The inventor of the Segway was one when it rolled off a cliff, so you can at least say they test them thoroughly
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Nah, it was the guy who bought the Segway company that died. Dean Kamen, the guy that invented them is still alive.

They sound cool. In fifteen years or so I shall get one instead of a zimmer frame.
