When did I say I was annoyed? Not only do you pretend to know what I do for a living purely on the basis of misreading something I wrote, you can also see into someone's state of mind over the internet. Blimey, how long have you had these special powers?
As I said, and I'll reiterate, The ones...
Yep, I agree, I can see why it wold be bloody annoying, but my point was that given the way that many agents work, it's also not very surprising.
As I've said already, I've only been contracting about 9 months and I've already come across some right arsehole agents.
I imagine some the people...
So, it seems that me saying "I wouldn't assume that what an agent says is definitely going to happen" (which is where I cam into this debate) that is proof that I'm an agent working undercover to harvest cv's?
How long are you going to keep that up?
I came here thinking it might be useful...
I'm sure if I'd been here longer I'd get that??
Anyway, I guess there's a history of people coming here posing as contractors who are actually pimps, so that they can do evil?
For the benefit of the uninitiated (i.e. me), what do they gain from that?
Personally I'd disagree.
If the agent is still coming back to you with changes then the negotiations haven't finished. If you you and the client have agreed terms but the agent wasn't in on it, doesn't that just mean that 2 of the 3 interested parties have agreed?
The negotiations only finish...
As a newbie (both here and to contracting in general) I'm possibly gonna get flamed for this but:
If an agent mentioned a rate in negotiations, they haven't "promised" anything.
It's not your mum, it's business.
The only time a rate has been "promised" is when it's written into the contract...
Hi all,
came across this place by accident.
I'm a contrcator but realtively new to it (9 months in and still afloat).
Thought I'd sign up and say hi, I'll be trawling through the threads shortly to pass on my wisdom to you all. After all, I've been a contractor for ages now, so I must know...
