I did exactly this one time, years ago. Client told me to pick one of the agencies on their list and go via them. When confronted with their standard contract with the restrictive covenant in, I told them it wasn't appropriate, and with seemingly mild reluctance they agreed to take it out...
Thanks Fred - yes I was already on FreeAgent with SJD and one of the best things was being able to give the new accountants view access straight away without waiting for SJD’s clearance. And much easier to use than the old spreadsheets or SJD’s portal
I wish I'd seen this 3 months ago. I'd been using SJD for years and not requiring much of them, and they were adequate. Then after my last company year end, I gave them final figures within about 6 weeks of year end and they did nothing with them for 8 and a half of the 9 months grace period...
Thanks for the replies. I’ve been trying to look for specialist brokers but haven’t found any so far so suggestions welcome.
I’ll look into QDOS. Fraidycat & jamesbrown - yes that idea did cross my mind because different providers do word it differently. For the ones that say “involve” or...

I used these, and would recommend:
Office Space & Virtual Office Services | Your City Office
I used to use Regus but would not recommend them at all. Mainly for their small print that requires effectively 15 months notice to terminate the contract, but also for the time they started answering...
Thanks for those suggestions. I can also ask my main company's accountant for advice on the startup loan, so I'll do that too.
Have been reading up a bit more. What confuses me now is bank charges. I understand I need to show 3 months with no money going into or out of the company account...but...
Good evening folks,
I want to close down a nonprofit limited company that has been ticking over for a few years. I've read the high-level stuff on the .gov website but could do with some advice on what order to do the practical things.
Some facts:
-I am the sole shareholder
-It never made much...
