    VAT direct debit

I had this problem. They let me off being late when I made manual payment. Second payment after setting up went out via DD without a problem.

Christmas Company Meal -too late ?

My accountant confirmed this can be any time of year. Furthermore it can be a number of events as long as the total is not over £150 a head. Clientco I work for has a very small xmas do, and a much bigger black tie event every year in Jan/Feb. It's billed as a "winter ball", I suspect it's held...

    iPhone hackage

Yeah fair point regarding Jailbreaking, just be careful if/when you upgrade firmware as it will probably break your unlock until someone come out with a new exploit. I'm suprised you waited so long to Jailbreak, I lasted about a week after getting it, but then I wouldn't of brought it when I did...

    iPhone hackage

Couldn't agree more. I wouldn't recommend O2 to anyone at the moment, especially in central London. Just found out I can switch personal tarrif to buisness with no charge, after being told 6 months ago there was no way to do it without paying off current contract. awful CS, different story each...

    iPhone hackage

You do know that O2 unlock contract iphones for free now at any time over the air? £15 for Pay go iphone unlock. Check the website. Better than using exploits that will probably get patched with the next firmware update, and having to keep your baseband on an older exploitable version.

    Edge (Norla)

A colleague of mine had a letter from HMRC a while back, hasn't heard anything else (yet). He's changed to a different offshore scheme now, Sanzar I think. I can't see this helping his case. I was considering Norla's EBT a few months back, very glad I decided to go Ltd again instead, thanks...

    VAT payments by direct debit

I think I've misunderstood when the payment will be taken. I thought it was 3 days after you've submitted the figures. Period was Aug to 30th Nov. Payment due 7th Jan 2010. Does this mean the payment won't be taken until 10th Jan 2010?

    VAT payments by direct debit

I suppose I will have too at some point. I gave up after 5 minutes of listening to classical music as it's an 0845 number which costs me money.

    VAT payments by direct debit

I set up direct debit payment a few minutes before making my first VAT payment online recently. I was told the DD takes a week or so to be set up before HMRC can take any money. After entering my VAT figures it said payment would be taken in 3 days. I'm concerned that the payment won't go out...

Problems with contracting over 12 months?

Well I don't contract direct to the clientco, so agent is getting a portion of money that could be coming to me taken from my daily rate for thier services. Several renewals means thier finding fee is long since covered, so I expect a bit of value add here. They've agreed to speak to clientco HR...

Problems with contracting over 12 months?

I see. I think this is one for my agent to deal with, that's what I pay them for.

Problems with contracting over 12 months?

Is unfair dismissal relevant when I'm an employee of my own Ltd company? Surely this is irrelvant as they don't employ me. If they choose to terminate my contract then this can't be unfair dismissal can it? I think they were worried about my rights changing mainly as this would advrsely affect...

Problems with contracting over 12 months?

My current clientco is stalling over signing the next extension to my contract. Once I'm over 12 months at the same client site they have concerns about how IR35 could affect me and how my rights might change as I'll have been there over 12 months. I'm guessing here they're concerned that I'll...

Parasol putting up monthly fees from 5th Oct

Switched from Parasol to Ltd a couple of mnths ago, still no P45 from them. Perhaps not suprisingly they're not being very helpful at all now I'm no longer paying them, not replying to email, difficult to get on the phone etc. Wish I had left them and gone Ltd from the start of the tax year.
