I wouldn't comment about the "near bottom" economy but it's correct that international investments are huge compared to imports/exports - it means that interest rates influence the exchange rates more than imports and exports do. -

Are you looking for the cheapest brand or the cheapest place to buy a certain brand? Un-branded memory is the least expensive but there is a high chance it wont work. I bought mine from Crucial from their online store. The price is good and judging by the reviews the chips are quite reliable... -

You are forgetting that a) this figure takes income tax into account (I presume) and b) a significant part of the federal budget comes from corporation tax and VAT. -

Machine learning, for texts mostly. Classification, ranking, named entity extraction, etc. I also know the maths for related problems (statistics, image analysis etc) - but never had the chance to use it in a commercial environment. -

I hope you are right, since I specialise in this area :) If applied to the right problem, AI can create real business value. But, right now it seems there isn't much demand for AI/data mining skills.
