Client was not sure during interview how they want to fill the role(contractor/permie). Now that i have interviewed, they want me to join as a permie- offer being good. Having left the permie world I would never go back to it. How should I make a pitch for them to give me a contract position?

unsettling experience
Somewhat unsettling experience here in one of my prev gig where I lasted about 2 of 8 months. I have great respect for people who have different orientation (you know what I mean). But it was a bit unsettling - a gentle touch on the shoulder I would...
Hi..I have left a past permie job(5 yrs back) with bad blood with the HR that may be on record....Now, a new contract opp requires emp references(for BPSS) that covers this job....what r my options to give their ref?
I am working limited inside IR35. I now need to stay overnight near client base(30 miles away from home) for the next 1 month for a project go-live. Client won't reimburse. Is 70 quid a night a reasonable accommodation+dinner expense that can be claimed back? say, e.g my daily rate is £325.
And, then all these trainee recruiters who waste half your day to get themselves trained at your expense asking silly questions like:-
-where do you see your self in 5 years time
-what motivates you
- what r your personal goals
- while you were with this client, did you work for mr lova lova...
Have been on bench for a while now; november has been boring. All job postings say Start Date=ASAP. But is December not a dead month for new contracts?
Got a decent paid contract a month back. Once joined I found that I am the only outsider in a team of about 20 staff members from a vendor who all surround the client management team - and keep them happy. Excluded from key meetings, decisions and often setup for failure I am now being...
Hi- I quoted low during initial discussion with the agency, having forgotten that they have advertised a higher rate. Now, the it looks quite positive after my interview with the client that I will land the role.
Should I re-negotiate the rate with the agency?
I get paid weekly and the weekly- invoice clear off on a friday. So, I would not know till Friday of a week if I have got paid for the week before.
If they would then decide to let go of me then I would have already worked without pay for 2 weeks.
Though I have a got relation regards to work...
Hi,
If my client stops paying me(because of internal disagreement which manager's budget pays for my extension), what are my legal options? Should I stop work immediately, or gently remind my reporting manager but continue work till the budget issue is resolved?
As a contractor, if I offer the client to develop a unique piece of software, can I copyright it or protect it under intellectual property laws? What r my options here?
Absolutely similar case with me. I am a soln designer. This contractor PM of mine has no delivery management experience, and takes the word of the permies at face value- quotes, estimates, quality of deliveries; and when things go wrong questions my design rather than the work of the permies.
Permies in my project are resigning left, right and centre and those who are left behind have no idea what they have to do. Ultimately, it will always be the contractor who has 'goofed up'. I have all the ammunition with me to strike early and present the facts and figures of my work to the...
Reporting to another contractor...
Recently got into a new contract where my project manager is also a contractor who signs my timesheet. The permie boss we report to is in another location and is never visible; so it's always this contractor pm who reports my progress to him. It's being a month...
