I've just done it - but it coincided with us going live (and thus project ending) and me moving into a different role totally (from project implementation to support consultant) - so would (attempt) to justify it that way.
I don't really see a problem to be honest if your working practices were...
You don't need to (and in fact shouldn't) go through an admin firm - these are for huge companies who need to manage the process - not one man bands.
For a one man band - just document the voucher agrement between the company and employee (i.e. you) and setup a standing order to your Child care...
While you may save on Flat Rate - have you considered doing a joint firm for IR35 purposes? I would have thought a husband and wife team doing the same thing would have an excellent case for avoiding IR35 - particularly if either of you did a bit of substitution for the other?
I know I am...
Hi,
Are you working with Oracle Financials/ERP business suite? (i.e. Oracle GL, Oracle Payables etc.).
If so - most of the views in that have security built in - you need to set the session context in your TOAD session before selecting from the view. Otherwise no data gets returned.

Bill - I haven't seen your CV (can't access it at work) - btu I too worked for Cap Gemini and had the same issues I presume you are now having in that I had worked there a while, but had actually worked for several different clients and projects during that time.
I structured my CV so in the...
Although the extra work wouldn't help the IR35 status of your main contract (apart from circumstancial stuff) - I fail to see how any of the work you get om rentacoda would be judged inside IR35.
I heard that if your skills were of the sort you couldn't really learn at home (e.g. Oracle etc.) you had a better chance as the self taught bunch weren't interested.
I have thought about doing it as a side line.
No it is fairly specific actually - mentions the consultancy by name and everything. The agency are not mentioned at all in relation to the clause.
It basically says 'to protect xxx'x business there is...blah blah blah'.
Also - the clause specifically mentions that it is there to protect the Consultancies business. If the consultancy are ok with it then do the agency have any comeback - even though they aer the ones losing out (should they ever find out).
I thought it was generally accepted that if you contract direct you are basically pretty IR35 proof - there is no higher/lower contract to worry about etc.
I am not really asking for permission from them - I want to see where a challenge would come from.
I think I may get some legal advice.
I am currently contracted through an Agency to a consultancy. They in turn contract me out (at pass through rate) to another firm who are basically the end user.
It is my contract renewal up and I want to go direct to the end user to a) make more dosh and b) IR35 protection.
Normally this...
No - there were two cases that got lost last year around the same time - Dragonfly was one, there was another guy. he was the one who basically told the revenue that he had done various things to get out of IR35 - hence why he didn't appeal as the PCG thought he didn't have a case.
Dragonfly...
