    BIG GROUP

I'm in I'm in I'm in. Been advised that my APN is coming for the EBT schemes I was in. Even if it doesn't help me I like the idea of it helping others.

Top council earner avoids income tax

Times pg 14. "Channels his income through his company in a scheme that reduces tax bills" "His earnings go to company owned by him & wife. As result he avoids income tax at 45%, paying as little as 21% in dividends." Government wants to clamp down... Sounds pretty much what a vanilla...

    Private groups

I keep seeing references to private groups for which you need PM rights. I've got PM rights but don't see any private looking groups. Is the private group just PM rights so that you can contact others in your scheme using your forum name?

HMRC Enquiry letters on Loans from EBT and other schemes

This case is so important to HMRC that they are prepared to try every avenue in the vain hope that someone somewhere will agree with them. I suspect that the entire EBT collection hinges on this case. if they are granted the appeal is they can still issue APNs but if they are denied the right it...

HMRC Enquiry for schemes through Darwin.

Why don't you ask them instead of posting the same question on every thread? It's 3% a year. Not compounded as far as I know.

    Edge EBT thread

65000 bankrupt? I'd be surprised if it's 65. There isn't a single good reason for then to bankrupt people. It works against them. It costs them. They have to get a judge to agree. You would need to have no assets. You would need to show that your incapable if warning to pay something. I'm not...

They provide an explanation in the letter as to why they deem Boyle similar

    Inheritance Tax on loan schemes

I'm guessing but my impression was that IHT was another avenue they could pursue if the others fail. They can't double tax you and isn't IHT just bundled in with income. It doesn't attract a higher rate afaik

HMRC enquiries for Talent Resource Management (TRM) / Cherrylon / Trentburg Schemes

I often wonder if they did a deal with Boyle not to appeal, knowing they were going to deem FTT wins good enough to issue FN/APN

HMRC Enquiry letters on Loans from EBT and other schemes

My letter clearly states that this covers EBT schemes up to 2010/11, so I presume that means until they changed the law in 2010. I stopped using EBT after that and moved to an FX based scheme for 6 months before going back to ltd. As above the letter is bullish. It explicitly refers to Boyle...

HMRC Enquiry letters on Loans from EBT and other schemes

Got my settlement offer letter this morning. Confirmation that I'll be getting an APN. My scheme wasn't registered for DOTAS as far as I know. Letter says nothing other than to call them to arrange to pay it all back and to reiterate they see the loans as income and have cases to back this up...

HMRC Enquiry letters on Loans from EBT and other schemes

I find the offer comical. I'm tempted to call them and tell them that. I'd like to know if they've won 80% of EBT cases, or us it closer to 0%? What's fair share? Is that tax law made in playgrounds. This continual waffle about settling up or it will get worse is water off a ducks back for...

Paying back what you haven't got.

Better for all if the thread is focused. I don't see any trolling, even if posters have been trolls before. I feel more for those that have assets and may lose then. Losing a home must be devastating. I rent but if I was bankrupted I would fail future credit checks. I'm guessing I would have...

Paying back what you haven't got.

All response are welcome. I don't think there's any advantage to settling until you get a final correct bill so I'm waiting for that. It may not come for another couple of years by which time I'll be in a better position. The earlier they bill me the less chance they have. I'm finding the...
