Offshore Company - Almost too late to back out - advice please
northernladuk, I already have a LTD company set up, but as I was PAYE (temp) for a while it became dormant. I have re-activated the co and account ready for this new contract. So at least I don't need to worry about setting the LTD co. up now, and I can register for VAT later can't I? The daily...- raidzero

Offshore Company - Almost too late to back out - advice please
Will still start as LTD I think, but keep it simple and as advised, will worry about VAT, etc. a little further down the line. I have used an umbrella in the past but wasn't impressed with them to be honest, plus got far less net earnings. Will read up on those EBT posts now.- raidzero

thanks all, so glad I asked before going any further and I just hope they can't legally demand any money yet for time wasted etc.. But it would be useful to get some concrete evidence, even if anecdotal from someone who has had a bad experience, as just advising me to run is great and useful...- raidzero

So, after over a year of PAYE temp contracting, I'm starting a new LTD contract this Thurs. I don't have a clue what I'm doing regarding tax, vat etc.. so have decided to sign up with one of those companies who offer 'up to 90% of salary....etc.' . Disclosure Scotland - anyone here used them?
Well they do claim that 'Disclosure Scotland runs checks against the Scottish Criminal History System, the UK-wide Police National Computer and Access NI (Northern Ireland).' so I'm not sure whether a certificate of disclosure from them would actually give me an advantage when looking for new...- raidzero

I was advised recently to get my security clearance carried out through Disclosure Scotland, but really I'm a bit confused as to what level I would need and what particularly makes Disclosure Scotland a good bet.
