ChatGPT suggestions
Lots of ways it can be used that I've been looking at this past month: 1. Spinning ideas. Give it a list of things that you want to do and ask for a list of 10 ideas "only list title and a 1 sentence description for each". If nonthing you like, just say "another 10". Then you can ask it for... -

The Official Budget 2016 thread
so nothing for another year, and even then it depends on what the rules are going to be. -
Q
The Official Budget 2016 thread
No; the whole point of what they tested for was whether I would be classed as a PSC or not. Considering I can pay someone else to do this for me, or send a replacement in that I pay for, it's not reliant on ME, but on my company fulfilling the contract. -
Q
The Official Budget 2016 thread
I am in a PS contract. 1 day in office, 4 days from home. I have control over my time, right of substitution etc. Except for security related things I use my own equipment. They ran my details through the ESI test on the gov.uk site last week (in prep for this?). It gave a result of "self... -
Q
Blue Ray Question
you will get DVD quality, which may or may not be upscaled, depending on your player, so might look better than a normal DVD player but it won't be BR quality. BluRay has more data encoded in the actual files which isn't there in the DVD files. -

Google Cash
That's just affiliate marketing. No secret, and the Google Cash thing is a complete misnomer, that is resulting in various lawsuits in the US. Facebook will cancel all adverts and close any accounts that advertise this kind of thing, I understand. General conversion rates are around 4-5%. It is...- quickweb

HTML to PDF and Word docs from .NET
Look for a .Net library called iTextSharp. This lets you create PDFs from code, and has some conversion facilities. There *are* issues, but it's free and works for most things. I am using it on this project: www.thefoodcalculator.com (go into the demo bit and then run the report) , as well as... -

Changing the terms mid contract
If you have a direct contract with them, then you are an non-agency external supplier, providing your services to the company. Do the cleaners, couriers etc. have to also do this? With a direct contract, this other company has no rights interferring with the relationship. If your client... -

Cheap Web Hosting / Domain Registration ?
It's always a good idea to have the domain name and website hosted by two different people. Gives you more flexibility to buy cheap names/hosting deals and move it around if you need to. Do you already have your 10 pages built? Or at least an idea of what you want on them? Do you already...- quickweb

oncall support
You seriously only charge £4 per hour for this sort of thing? We worked out the rough amount of time needed to achieve certain, repeatable tasks, per month. It wasn't 24x7 but could run 8am-7:30pm, and maybe some emails, setting up things on weekends. This normally resulted in something like... -

Nightmare with BT Broadband home move..
2 things here. 1. Why the hell would anyone want broadband via BT? (excpeting that the cables and core service is provided by them of course) 2. Have Telewest actually dug new cable? I thought they wouldn't ever dig any more. -
