BOOMED! Well, until things go wrong.
6 month Inside gig - decent enough day rate as fully remote. Gives some commercial experience of newer tech too.. income whilst waiting for the market to adjust too. Tbh, can live off this level of income so if end up closing Ltd will be fine.
The agent...
I'm well aware of that, experienced it before - stood ground over unreasonable demand outside contract terms, terminated as a result.
At the moment, if it came off then it's still money - not that it will.
Approached about an inside gig. May take it to cover the bills for the next year, gain more experience in a few skills. Sadly it's with a consultancy who screwed me over before and with a client who were painful to supply services to before, so I doubt it'll go anywhere...
EDIT: The plan would...
Think I'll pass on this one...

The "hours per day" only matters for T&M gigs surely? If you're working to SoW with milestones that trigger payment, it's irrelevant the hours you put in?
"Competitive rates".
Well, if they are so competitive, give them then. "US rates? Who gaf about US rates...
"Awards for culture..."
Well, maybe people see through the bs, style over substance?
"Rockstar talent?"
Rockstar talent have their pick of gigs... something you don't seem to...
I'm happy to be proven wrong, but not sure it's something that would help one iota.
Smacks to me more of incentivisation to prevent contractors leaving contracts than anything else.
Expected to work 9.5, 7.5 hours a day is typical T&M which we as contractors really need to get away from... milestone payments properly defined mean multiple contracts are better facilitated because it doesn't matter when you do the work as long as you hit the milestones.
Maybe if PCG / IPSE had focused on getting privat sector companies on board by pushing for benefits for disguised employees. then clients could well have thought better about managing contractors a long time ago...
