Do your bit for Parkinson's research

Now wondering whether my supersniff is related to my intolerance of spicy food! Basically I'm a very sensitive person :) (I do have to cut the labels out all my clothes cos they drive me crazy - TIL that means charity shops can't sell them!)

Do your bit for Parkinson's research

Got the results for this today. Seems like I know my onions from my oranges (which I presume makes me low risk!)

Monday Links from the Deckchair vol. DCCCLXV

Enjoyed the tube lines! Surprised how well I did although maybe they should have thrown in a few red herring answers

    AI goes rogue

If that can happen by accident, it doesn't bode well for when enemies of the state get going with it.

I'm reading a book about Ada Lovelace. I've only just learned (maybe something everyone else knew) that the Analytical Engine (i.e. world's first computer) was never actually built, and Lovelace's program never run until many years later on a modern emulator (where a bug was found!). I feel...

    Nationwide AGM voting

Nothing to do with contracting :) Most of us ignore elections for directors for financial organisations, but if you're a Nationwide member, pay a little more attention. For the first time in over 20 years a member has been nominated to the board. The board have recommended to vote against his...

    Farewell ISPE Community Forum

On this occasion the DM actually produced one of the better, more comprehensive stories (apart from the bitter rival headline which is nonsense) and the original article was paywalled. Plenty of other write ups if you google it!

    Farewell ISPE Community Forum

I was a witness at a trial recently. https://archive.ph/Uh02U if anyone wants the sordid details! (I was the "other" who disarmed him - not quite as heroic as it sounds as he was being held down at the time!) Basically the attacker is battulip crazy (think that's the official legal term?) and...

This week I knitted a prime factors jumper. Basically each prime has a different colour (the light blue background is 1, which is a factor of everything) and the other numbers are represented by multiplying the primes. Quite pleased with it. Fits approx 2 year old who will be far too young...

I was in ours at about 4pm and they were offering the guy having his flu jab a free one because it was end of day and they'd be throwing it away (he declined). So next year go in late in the day and you might be in luck
