    Contracting through ITARMI

Thanks ladymuck I hadn't heard of them either, the client they are looking to place with are a well known established Managed Service Provider. It would just be reassuring to hear from someone who has actually contracted through them. Any tips or recommendations on how best to get a credit...

Daily cost of living in Zurich?

When I was contracting there stayed central, here... Hotel Zurich - Bahnhof - Zentrum Right next to central station, clean, quiet, comfortable, breakfast included (which from my experience in Zurich is rare), if you are in Zurich regularly I’m sure you can negotiate a good room rate with the...

    TGC World

Update: Avoid TGC World and HCL at all costs; my experience is they will just waste your time, give you the runaround on rate and contract terms. God knows why any decent company would outsource their IT to these people. Thankfully never got to the point of not getting paid by them, as Lance...

    TGC World

Thanks for the advice, will definitely make sure the contract is nailed down tight (weekly payment terms) else will walk away as not worth the hassle.

    TGC World

Hi, Has anyone contracted via this company based in Wembley? End client is City Bank but a few parties between me and end client, my contract would sit with TGC World. Any feedback on prompt invoice settlement, contract structure etc appreciated. Cheers.

    Contract: Notice Period 3 Months

No agent involved, going direct. As per some of the other replies this could be an IR35 issue, after a bit more research I have some good links to articles now stating the ideal IR35 position is no notice period and 3 months would be difficult to defend. So will flag this up and request notice...

    Contract: Notice Period 3 Months

Yes, but I am getting the wording checked as it is substitution on their approval, which to me indicates not true substitution and an element of control.

    Contract: Notice Period 3 Months

That's the problem, not started the gig, don't know what people/environment are like, have good idea of scale/scope of project (I am a PM), and the project I am taking on is probably 2 years e-2-e. Just debating whether to insist on shorter notice period as 3 months is a long time.

    Contract: Notice Period 3 Months

I have been offered a contract with a 3 month notice period either way on an initial 6 month contract. Have not signed the contract yet; IR35 review stage. Even when I was a permie my maximum notice period was 1 month. I'd be more comfortable with 2, maximum 3, weeks. Any thoughts on...

    Another price rise at InTouch

Thanks for that, will look into Free Agent after I establish fees with local accountant. Cheers.

    Another price rise at InTouch

Likewise, however there have been times when dealing with InTouch that if they were round the corner I would have gone in to put my point across face to face rather than over the phone. It's not a deciding factor more of another benefit of going local.

    Another price rise at InTouch

I looked into local accountant when InTouch last raised their fees. They were about £600-£750 for the year for the same level of service, they were not supposedly specialist Contractor accountants though, but like I said the advice that I have received from InTouch has been limited. The...
