Notice period concerns on a new contract

I'm looking for a little advice. I have verbally agreed to start a new contract on monday, but having just read the T&C's from the agency it would seem I am not allowed to give notice to the contract at any period and the client can give me 1 week. I have yet to sign the contract as it is still...
