Afternoon all
My current contract is due to expire in the coming weeks and, from a brief search of the jobsites, the market still seems to be depressed.
What are peoples experiences, particularly those in the Service Delivery arena, of the current state of the market?
Thank you.
So, is it not worth applying if you have no O&G industry experience or if you haven't been to a red brick university?
Any advice on their recruitment (contract or permananent) process would be appreciated.
As per a suggestion on this forum I have accounted for time between contracts on my CV by adding my Ltd company to my CV in my work history section.
This is true as I have been actively looking for new roles as well as networking with contacts and providing some ad-hoc services.
In this...
Does anyone have any experience of the OGC Management of Risk (M_o_R) framework?
I work in the Service Delivery field and am contemplating pursuing this framework but somewhat un-sure as to how useful it will be.
I get the impression it may be more useful for someone working in a Project...
Ironically, I did apply for a permanant role a month ago but was un-successful.
When I requested feedback, the HR assistant advised that my CV came across as a job specification and lacked detail.
I did tailor my CV, prior to submission, towards the role but was surprised by the comments...
How many versions of your CV do you have?
At present, I tailor my CV for each role I apply for to change the focus of the CV in order to highlight the most approporiate skills for the role.
However, I am now contemplating applying for permanant roles and wondered if my CV should be re-written...
Good afternoon
I have been out of contract for a few months but have been doing some ad-hoc IT Support in my local area to keep me busy and some income coming in.
Would it be a good idea to include this on my CV to account for the gap since my last contract?
I'm not sure it warrants it's own...
My understanding and also from what I have read on this forum is that the summer months (June - August) are quite months as most people are on holiday and that any additional recruitment tends to take place in September/October.
However, some recent posts on this forum seem to suggest that...
Good afternoon all
Since my original post, I decided to take a much needed break visiting friends overseas.
Having returned, it appears that the market is still the same with limited roles. Are others finding this too?
I know there are a lot of people in a similar situation, but I get the...
Good afternoon
I wondered if others, from different areas of IT, are also finding the current market tough.
I work in the Service Delivery arena and have been looking for a few months now without much luck due to a distinct lack of roles.
I understand we are in a recession but wondered how...
It sounds like you are in a similar situation to one I was in a few years ago.
I successfully migrated away from being technical to a similar role to this so it can be done.
BTW, how did you get on?
Thank you for your reply Sally.
I have not changed address and have definitely not received any chasing letters.
I didn't pay any voluntary NIC's during that period so thank you for the reminder - I will investigate paying them now.
Out of interest, do you know whether I can pay the voluntary...
For personal reasons, I was not working between 2005 - 07.
Prior to that I was a full time employee and upon returning to work, I have 'become' a contractor with a Limited Company which means I have been submitting a Personal Tax Assessment since then.
Last night, I was going through some old...
