I'm trying to help someone having this issue so don't want to name and shame until i have full picture.
The issue happened on several payments and first occured 4 months ago.
Noticed recently (a few days ago).
Yes to both questions and they are not very helpful. Took me a while to explain them that there is a difference between both type of pension payments. The reason I'm asking here is because I'm trying to understand what practically can be done.
Pension contribution has been processed by umbrella as private contribution instead of salary sacrifice, HMRC already got their money and the rest of it is already invested meaning around 20% lost. Is there anything that can be done to revert it back and do it as salary sacrifice?
I would go for MX5 MK3 with MOT and assume you may not get it mot'd next year due to rust issue. If the rust is sorted then the price will be much higher.
Other option is mercedes SLK which I would also assume goes to scrapyard at the end of summer. MX5 is like a gokart, really good fun to drive...
It really depends on your personal circumstances and state of market for your skills. If it was beneficial to me working long hours (lots to learn) then I wouldn't mind but I would rather make it my personal choice.
I had a situation like yours where it was suggested to me that people work hard...
The tarmac mix is different in different countries making the system fair for all road users across Europe (and beyond). So, I don't find the roads in Italy much better but actually much worse in some places.
So, what's the all fuss about these days with IR35? Unless we have a spouse and are happy to "share" our cake then there is not much profit from being outside. Lots of cash will build up in the business account without making any profit.
My ltd was closed via MVL and I still have a few months left of the 2yrs period. But, I've just been offered an outside IR35 contract.
I see two options (apart from running away):
a) use umbrella for a few months and then setup ltd when 2 years have passed since MVL.
b) use umbrella for this...
Which just proves how tru the outside IR35 contracts are. The scenario is not much different to a consultancy switching consultants between projects. The issue is the time (= cost) it takes to setup a substitute but it should all be covered by the consultancy (no matter how big it is).
No favours in this business. They stick to the process unless they don't have one :).
btw I've just learned that quite significant amount of margin we pay to umbrella goes back to agency. Apparently my umbrella (which costs me around £60pcm) costs slightly over £100pcm when used through another...
It's not uncommon that people bill full day but don't work 8hrs or not 100% efficiently. Quite often also client doesn't provide enough work/information to make a proper use of 8hrs day.
In my recent assignment I had to answer lot of questions checking if there is any relation between myself and the umbrella, e.g. whether it's not run by my Mrs or myself.
