Don't get it - they both mention a value being applied if OVER a specific figure - but the figure is the same bar £1.
So if my profits are less that £11,908 a year - I pay nothing?
If my profits are £30k - do I pay £3.15 a week, or 9.73% of £19,092 ( £0 - 11908 ) or both?
Do i assume that on that link that HMRC have got a word wrong:
You usually pay 2 types of National Insurance if you’re self-employed:
Class 2 if your profits are more than £11,908 a year
Class 4 if your profits are £11,909 or more a year
Should class 2 be LESS than 11908?
Ok, so speaking to someone who is already on one of these.
Their opinion is that you get paid a wodge of cash in dollars based on a monthly rate, you then take care of tax your end.
This to me seems strange - I can see how I can account for income tax as part of self assessment perhaps, but...
Yes I did and yes I do.
It sounds like it could be treated as a permie / fixed term contract type role - but you have to provide your own insurance, payment is made in $ based on a rate and it looks like you get paid monthly but with some holiday allowance ( which again looks like permie )...
Yes, I did read that - and all the advice that came from Companies House about dissolving a company.
It just seems odd that they would let anyone do this - I'd actually prefer to pay the amount as I have the money - I just don't know how to do that, and HMRC don't seem to want to facilitate it...
When the company was dissolved Companies House and my Bank both said that the Bank Account would be frozen so I should move any remaining funds out.
How can it be tax evasion when I've said "I owe you money - how do I report and pay it?" and they have said "You don't owe anything"?
Ok, so after many years of O/S IR35 I've taken an Inside gig and decided to dissolve the Ltd Co I've been using.
I tried to file a final CT return but the site wouldn't let me do it as it wasn't due, so I thought I'd dissolve the company and then file the final return on the anniversary when it...
So the situation is that I'm with Client 1 and using Umbrella 1, that contract is coming to an end and Client 2 ( via an agency ) wants be to work via Umbrellas ( of which Umbrella 1 is not on the list ).
Apart from the fact I'm very happy with U1, I'm also in the process of a mortgage...
Thanks for that - yes that all makes sense - I think I had an idea of how I wanted it to work which doesn't match up to reality - I did speak to Freeagent about this as well and they advised how their software would account for it so I presumed it was not something that hadn't been done before....
