Starting work before a contract or incorporation - how bad a screwup?

It's better than that - Qdos Freelance Club Plus is available free of charge to all of our customers who purchase any of our insurance products. So you get the reviews with PI insurance, etc etc So far I've found Qdos to be extremely helpful. You never know until a problem happens with...

Starting work before a contract or incorporation - how bad a screwup?

All clear as day. Mal - when you say the other stuff you're talking about minor mishaps like starting work before you sign the contract. Waiting for Qdos to do the full review and will see what the agency says and report back but I'm clear on everything said. Cheers once again all.

Starting work before a contract or incorporation - how bad a screwup?

All clear, it's just another risk vs reward then. Nice that it covers you on the actual tax but, as I've seen in other threads, Qdos seem to stop it before it gets there as well. So, as you say, I guess it's all down to whether PCG take up your case or not. Will have a think on that one.

Starting work before a contract or incorporation - how bad a screwup?

Malvolio- just want to be clear on that one, and I think you've probably covered it but just to be sure.... You're suggesting getting the plus PCG membership and rely on their interest in helping you, rather than getting the separate Qdos TLC35? Is the Hiscox policy you mention a separate...

Starting work before a contract or incorporation - how bad a screwup?

Will do. Out of interest what level did other people go for? I presume malvolio is on the plus. Seems that's where the benefits kick in - apart from one more phone line I can use for questions rather than bothering you guys.

Starting work before a contract or incorporation - how bad a screwup?

Hi one and all, Wanted to say a huge thanks for all the advice. Nixon Williams have been great so far, after a small false start, and I'm incorporating today. Qdos are doing the contract review in quick time (I hope) and I'm getting insurance through them as soon as incorporated. Agency are...

Starting work before a contract or incorporation - how bad a screwup?

Thanks for all the advice. I'll speak to them and see how the negotiations go Greg- thanks for the links, much appreciated. Northernladuk- thanks as always, I owe you a beer if we're ever in the same area for all your help. 2 if you look through the contract for me ;) I'll probably go to Qdos...

Starting work before a contract or incorporation - how bad a screwup?

Edit: I WAS going to go for Nixon Williams but they've just put their rates up by £20 to £95 and haven't answered when I filled in their callback section on their website. Northernladuk, I've seen you used to be with sjd. Still recommend them?

Starting work before a contract or incorporation - how bad a screwup?

Thanks for the quick answer as always Northernladuk - as an aside I grew up on 2000AD so always happy to see your avatar. I was fearful about the acceptance of the contract. I did have advice that the specific refusal of it would hold but I can also believe that may not be the case. I'm...

Starting work before a contract or incorporation - how bad a screwup?

Hi all, Apologies for another set of questions – I was looking at incorporating this week whilst I waited for contracts and a start date - and then events outpaced me and the client wanted me to start today; good news in one sense. Problem is I actually haven’t incorporated yet or signed the...

Flat rate tax - last question for a while

Sorry, don't want to flood the forum but this is genuine interest. If the flat rate for VAT makes sense, as I understand it, then a company that is more likely to receive more VATable invoices (whether for physical items or services) should get a lower numerical percentage than a services...

    IR35 agency contract

Afternoon, I won't re-iterate my position everytime (http://forums.contractoruk.com/accounting-legal/71966-expenses.html) as I'm hoping to become regular on here. All to say I'm new but hopefully doing my homework. Couple of questions about IR35 and the contracts. 1) Being a bit cheeky - I...
