Took up the floorboards in one of the reception rooms and was amazed to discover that the boards were all red cedar, took them up very carefully and stored them in the garage. (worth about £35 a metre.

Roofers turned up and ripped off the existing roof slates, felted the roof and covered it in plastic and went home, coz it started hammering down.

I should have put £35 a square metre. Most are 12" wide boards too

Hammering down again now, I hope the roof up there is ok, or I will have no ceilings left tomorrow

Son in laws cousin doing the roof for next to nothing (cost really) so don't mind replacing a few ceilings if the sheeting leaks.
