Lunch has been a roast beef roll :tongue

This used one of the long white rolls I made the other week. I’m quite pleased with how they’ve turned out; the bread is light and fluffy, and the crust is thin but with just a light crunch to it :)

Nice job on the forum update @NickFitz so much nicer to use on mobile.
That’s not down to me - it’s built in with XenForo, and they’ve done a great job of it :yay:

I did things like the date jump and also stuff with rep, thanks and likes. The default importer converted rep to likes and threw away the old thanks and likes, as they were from a vB plugin. So I had to add thanks, make rep a separate thing, and then import them all into their correct categories :bang:

The threads and posts import was the biggest thing though, because I’d gone to all the trouble of ensuring everything kept its old ID when doing the vB5 switchover; for example, TPD remained as thread 4465. So the importer this time had to be made to pick up those preserved vB4 IDs while importing what it thought was a vB5 board with completely different IDs :freaky:

There were even some old posts which got screwed up a bit in the switchover from vB4 to vB5 which I was able to unscrew along the way :D

Oh, and the tag cloud now uses a log scale, so tags other than “monday links” don’t all appear at the smallest size :)

That’s Tuesday done. I’ve been assigned a ticket for a change to the search interface of the thing I’m now working on. The lead dev for this project had done a bunch of the basic layout stuff that was needed to start with, which gave me a good place to begin from. Slight problem though: I’ve never used the underlying CMS before, nor the JS framework in use :laugh

Said lead dev was going to take me through it all to get me going, but he was stuck in meetings all day. Always seems odd to me that organisations say “This person is such a knowledgeable developer that they ought to sit in meetings instead and have no time for any development work” but such is the way of the world

But I’d read a load of docs yesterday and this morning, so this afternoon I figured I’d make a start and learn by experimentation plus looking at how existing stuff works. This paid off, as I’ve pretty much achieved what I hoped to get done, and learned quite a lot about how all the bits fit together :yay:

He’s booked some time tomorrow afternoon for the introductory chat, so I’m hoping to have a chunk more done by then :D

Tea has been lamb chops with chips and beans :tongue

Accompanying this, E1 of a Netflix thing about a serial killer in the Times Square area of NY in the late 1970s-early 1980s :bluelight

Greetings from somewhere over the North Sea heading towards Southend or thereabouts.

The in flight meal was salmon. I am not a fan of salmon but the mash and veggies were good, as was the apple pie for dessert.

Tonight, I finished reading Inspector Imanishi Investigates. Great stuff, with a most unexpected solution to the mystery :yay:

Goodnight all  :tired
