There was some wildlife stuff on earlier, but I had to leave the apes to watch it by themselves for most of the time

And I should have got to bed earlier, but my head was all cluttered up with the forum stuff that’s occupied almost all of the day, so I read a chapter of Inspector Imanishi Investigates to clear it out :)

Monday again tomorrow, and back to work! Though I’ve spent all week working on the forum stuff, so it’s been a busman’s holiday :D

Goodnight all  :tired

Morning denizens

There’s a clear blue sky and a pleasantly autumnal feel to the air this morning :)

That’s going to be due, in part, to the temperature: 7°C (“feels like” 3°) with an expected high of 12°. The barometers remain ebullient though, being up to 1027/1035mB :glasses

Morning.

Monday.

Sunny.

Blue sky.

Frost on the grass.

15.1 deg in here, 14.8 in the kitchen, 11 in the leanto, 8 out the back.

1032 mBar, 30.47 in Hg, 774 Torr, 14.97 psi, (up from 1029 last night), 68% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 7th of April 2020: it doesn't do that any more. :ohwell. The goto date thing works well but I really can't deal with that.

Was thinking of doing another washing frenzy but it's flat calm out there so stuff wouldn't dry much.

Entertainment: Jack Hargreaves Old Country: the one where a butchered pig gets cut up into pieces the way they used to do it when you could keep pigs at home. My grandfather must have done that. And "the saltinghouse" which now contains junk and washing apparatus was originally built as a coal hole cum somewhere to salt the pigs kept in the pigsties at the bottom of the garden. My sister can remember an unfortunate pig being trotted up the garden path to be offed & bled & processed on the iron pipe construction that used to reside outside the living room window. I don't recall anything like that, other than falling in the midden when I was 4. Strange how that sort of thing sticks in your memory.

Gosh. The search thing lets me find out what I was watching years & years ago last May. Unlike the previous version which barely reached the week before last.

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the sunshine. This time it included:

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: R4: "Sleuth Hound" being a thing about Dr Bell. Dashcam bollox S6 E6. PBS: Grand Tour of Scottish Isles: Foula and Fair Isle.

Alaska Homestead Rescue: A bog in Maine with an unfinished & wet cabin. Updation: on day one it turns out to have a closure notice on it due to lack of permits. Happily it was sorted out by day 2. And it really was a bog, mostly caused by excessive logging & heavy equipment fecking up the drainage. Two ladies, both with assorted ailments including Lyme Disease. Once the permits were sorted they completed the house/cabin thing, added a sauna, added a composting toilet, added a hot tub of sorts. Added another of those tree supported structures as a hen/duck/goose/guinea fowl hutch.

Tea: spag bol (using an alternative to that horrid can of the other week): much better. Entertainment: PM. PM no longer has a weather forecast at 17:55. I wonder how much that saves. :eyes.

Bab5 S5 E17 "Movements of Fire & Shadow". Things are not going well for the Centauri and are about to get a good deal worse.

Maigret and the elusive witness (1996) (Cremer). The disappearing body one.

Bit of Oak Island nutjobbery: not so much wood, sand and gravel instead.

History's Mysteries: Machu Pichu. Well at least it wasn't the 1942 Battle of Los Angeles, which was a plus in my book.

Lunch has been leftover chicken chasseur from the other night; as we all know, “serves two” means “serves one-and-a-half”, so this was the remaining bit :tongue

Afternoon gang

Oooooh, this looks shiny. Nice work Nick!

Lunch was veg stew from the freezer. It was CBS outside until about 10 minutes ago and now there's an ominous-looking bank of black cloud.

Hitting the TOGAF books this afternoon - what fun this is...
