You pay for what you get with varifocal lenses. The cheap ones have a very limited field of vision. My myopic prescription (-8.50) requires such a high refractive lens that I need the very super expensive Kryptonite Zircon encrusted spectacle lenses. I wear monthly disposable contact lenses that have long distance corrected in my dominant eye and a weaker one corrected for reading in my other. Problem solved.Originally posted by petergriffin View PostMy trusted optuagenarian optician warned against varifocal because of bad peripheral visions.
The optician at high street stores are sales puppets and therefore I don't tend to trust them that much.
I guess at one point I'd have to go through the varifocal route.I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).Comment
