Hard Brexit now!

There does seem to be a lot in Cambridge.
I wouldn't really recommend the place, but you'd get a decent house for £250K here in Banbury, and London, Southampton, Bristol, Birmingham and Cambridge are all within 2 hours journey time. It's about the only reason I haven't left - I figure it's good for options and cheaper than the proper Thames Valley. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Are you crazy ... how can you advice anyone to move into Banbury ... lord .. am almost sure Banbury is where Stephen King gets his inspiration for all of the horror books he wrote about towns possessed with the devil.... if you go to the cash tills at M&S you'll be confronted with clones ... about 10 women all with dar hair look like sisters with a middle parting.... (there is a lot of incestuous relationships going on at Banbury and surrounding villeges) ...
Aviod Banbury like the plague ... and no Banbury is not 2 hours away from London .. its 2 hours to get to Paddington then another 45 min to get to the city, hence commuting to London is not an option !!Comment

I think I was pretty clear that I wouldn't recommend the place. But the natives with their eyes too close together do help keep the prices down, and since they built the M40 15 years ago some of the locals have started to venture to far off places like Oxford or Warwick.
1h20 direct train to Marleybone, or 1h30 changing at Reading to get to Paddington if you must, or about 45mins drive to the M25 on a good day. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Marlow may be nice, but it's right next to the terrorist and stabbing capital of the uk (High Wycombe)
Really you have to live somewhere very close to your work given the traffic situation/overcrowding.
One thing I noticed when I first moved to the South East, if you ask someone how far somewhere is they will tell you the travelling time rather than the distance, that's because a 20 mile drive can take an hour! The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment
