We're back to Lapland on holiday this year. It's so snowy that you see more people travelling around on cross-country skis than on foot. I wondered how easy this type of skiing is to learn - I've no interest in downhill skiing but there are so many ski paths, and snow-show hiking is damn hard work.

Learning to ski?

Never tried it, but have always fancied it. I suspect that it would be even more hard work than snow-shoeing but would be very interested to hear how you get on!Originally posted by d000hg View PostWe're back to Lapland on holiday this year. Snow showing takes considerably more effort than walking, it's somewhat akin to walking through thigh-deep water. I'm sure skiing would kill you the first few days but surely the whole reason it's used as a form of transport is that it's easier. I'm thinking flattish ground, not going into the mountains - there is a frozen lake which is a PITA to walk across but you see people casually breezing across on skiis.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
