I quite like Rugby but I am not big on watching live games. I have been offered trips to watch England in Italy, Paris and Edinburgh. The latter holds no appeal but I quite fancy the other two. Anyone been to Paris and Rome to watch rugby?

That reminds me, I've won an all expenses paid trip to the World Cup Finals in Brazil next year. Flights, accomodation, food, booze, tickets to the games. All paid for, for me and a friend.

I've yet to decide who that friend is, so I was wondering .....

Yep, been to Rome several times; well worth it for a great atmosphere, good food, wine flowing freely and so on. It used to be in Stadio Flaminio, which was a beautiful location but it's moved to the Olympic Stadium to accomodate growing numbers of Italian fans. A bit of an odd place with Mussolini's fascist architecture all around. But otherwise Rome is great for rugby and you can see that the Italians are getting into it more and more. I played in the Roma 7 a few times too; brilliant weekends. Last time I went was the England game in 2012 and Rome was covered in snow; very amusing as the locals didn't have a clue what to do and were driving around cobbled streets with snow chains rattling! But seriously, its a fantastic place and the locals make rugby fans feel welcome. Keep away from restaurants that have pictures of the food on the outside or flags of lots of countries and just ask the Italian fans where to eat and drink.

I've watched a couple games at the Stade de France and one at Murrayfield. Atmosphere within stadium was good but it's my least favourite 6 nations venue because:

1) Stadium is in the middle of nowhere and trains are heaving to get out there
2) There are no pubs/restaurants near the stadium meaning it loses atmosphere

Murrayfield on the other hand is a brilliant place to watch and enjoy before/after parties.

Best place of them all to take the lady of the house because the socialising is more about restaurants than pubs. Just don't let the combination woman+creditcard go anywhere near the Via Condotti.
