They probably practiced penalties more than "30 times a month" like Gerrard said in his interview, also some other English player mentioned same number so it can't be misprint. Good job Sven - well coached known weakness... if it was up to me I'd make all those "big stars" practice penalties until they learn how to get 100% out of at least 30 kicks per day. Naturally goal keeper's job would be to do the opposite - no wonder he did not save much because clearly he too only had few kicks.
No chance, you wont get them out the pub.
As for Sven hes now up for his 5 million quid end of contract bonus , money for old rope I say.
I'd fire them and offer place to any no name who would show dedication and ability - that footballer will probably one of those who dont earn millions yet, and they will bust their balls to win every game in hope that they would actually put themselves into position of earnings lot of millions, which would be fair enough if they win world cup.
All that's necessary is simple attitude - if player is not performing for any reason, if player is not training all the time penalties and other things, then he is out.

Good points Aw, give the guys a chance who are hungry for success unlike the playboy millionaires who are too busy thinking of their next portfollio investment ... oh and give the manager a 5 million bonus if he actually wins the world cup not if he just turns up for the tournament, might help.
Zinedine Zidane won the Golden Ball award for the World Cup's best player, despite being dismissed for headbutting Marco Materazzi in the final.
It was decided on a vote.
Have to say best player of the tournament (surely by miles) was Cannavaro, and was also much impressed by Mascherano and Tevez (Argentina).
