No vertical scroll in FF but you get 'em with Chrome.
Complex one. Images in posts are set to a max-width of 800px, which IIRC was done in a vague attempt to discourage idiots from posting images that are clearly too large (which didn't work). The dimensions of the actual image are 964 x 961 pixels. Chrome enforces the max-width of 800px by scaling the image down; this makes the height 800 / 964 * 961 = 797.510373443984 pixels. When it calculates the height of the containing box, it rounds this down, so the box is 797px high. This makes it about half-a-pixel too short for the height of the image (which is the height Chrome itself imposed), so it shows a scrollbar.

I'd say that's a bug in Chrome. It should round up to ensure that the containing block is big enough for a contained element whose size it has scaled to be a fractional number of pixels. So there.

Ah, my problem might be when a smiley graphic is the last line of the thread.

            Yep, ^ that did it.

EDIT and the last row of pixels in the smiley isn't displayed.

Yes, that was the issue with IE as well. Which version of Chrome are you on?

Damn those smiley barstewards! I sometimes see the bottom bit of the smiley chopped off in FF, but can't see scroll bars in Chrome.

                  It says:

                  Version 24.0.1312.52 m

(the 'm' is not a typo)

                  Win7 64bit

Don't sweat it Nick! Wouldn't want you to get distracted from real work!

EDIT: by the way, I think it used to do this in Chrome too, I recall talking to you about this way back when the new forum was released.

EDIT2 probably posted in the new forum forum, seems lost forever?

                    I'll try'nd have a look this evening.

Not sure about the new forum forum, it might be hiding in the database somewhere? In which case it might also be in the test DB, and I can have a look there.

I get it if you reply with quote and there are more than around 8 lines:
