I'm depressed

:frown
hey hang on a mo.

I was a single parent . and when the kid hit 15, I got a job.

in those days, not many single parents worked.

different era and ethos i suppose

Oh you can batter on about sympathy for you lack of ability to hold down a stable relationship but that has no concern to me really. I thought we were going to talk about Kilwiklie but is you want to overload on your failed life then don't stop.

You waited until the kid was 15 before getting a job? My mum was single when the old man died and she worked two jobs from when I was 4, my brother 9 and sister 11. I grew up a typical latch key kid. Nice to have the option for the first 15 years. :eyes

I thought sy01 started the thread.

I will have another check, in the morning. when I am sober

Get the milk in Dad.

Being on the other side of this gives me a nasty turn. I don't think the forum knows the crunch point we are debating.

yep. I was an Idle bastid.
mostly

I just couldn't imagine giving a five year old a key, and let her do her own tea.
she would never have been able to reach the lock for a start
and second, she would have swigged all me beer

My old mum was proud and would never except handouts or benefits, instead got on shank's and grafted. But each to their own moral code.
