Time to pick up your sprog, get the dinner on for the missus and tidy the house you sad git. If your lucky and she's not too tired, she might give you one later.
Even cretin-baiting has lost its charm, they're all too easy. What shall I do? Is it time for a doom economics thread?
Yes. I've become interested in the question of whether 'the economy' as it's mentioned in the meejah every day really exists or is a satisfactory way to sum up all the economic activity going on from day to day. I'm starting to think there's really more than one economy. There's a zombie economy that's largely doomed but surviving on inertia, consisting largely of huge bureaucratic corporations and government departments, employing legions of people who don't actually contribute to making and selling useful stuff or services, and there's a sort of parallel economy with companies who are doing very well, where companies aren't bogged down by compliance departments, ISO handbooks et cetera but work with a very flat structure with almost everyone dealing with customers every day, little paperwork and people who belong to the best in their field.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014
