    Day 3 here.

    No login to timesheet

Only one that works is the expenses system but I can't travel to the site I'm supposed to be at 'cos my paperwork hasn't cleared.

    It's only a 10 week gig!

        Day 2 - I have a login.

I'm working from home, so I need to download their client software to log in.

I can't download the client software because the link to it is in my email.

I can't get to my email because I'm working remotely.

Project Manager is missing at the moment - last email was Saturday morning.

Dealing with a 7 hour time change at the moment as well, as she is half-way round the world.

Waiting for flight details so I can get there.

        Still billing.....

Day 962 - still no secretary in short skirt
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Been at clientco 2 days. No logon, desk, pass or ready access to anything to read.

Always a bad sign when it's this disorganised. Can only stare at your phone / newspaper etc. for so long.

It's times like this when I just CBA with this contracting lark. I'd rather be at home watching the T20

I hope none of this is being raised a complaint?

I am curently waiting for a log in to one of the servers here. I am currently watching Ire-Aus in the T20 on my iPad. Thinking if O'Brien doesn't do something special Aus have this to lose.

Well, for the individual it's OK, but it's actually bloody appalling if you stop to think about it.

There are thousands of IT jobs disappearing from Europe due to offshoring and outsourcing, which supposedly happens because 'management' want to save money. All the while, if you start a contract anywhere in Europe it can take weeks before you can do any work because large companies and government agencies have complicated and inefficient 'workflow processes' to get you an account and a PC. All the while, money is being pissed up against the wall and idiot managermen are complaining that IT is costing too much, even though they themselves have pushed the costs up with their 19th century top-down management approaches, of which this is only one example.

Fine, WGAS if you can invoice, but look at the bigger picture and it's a fooking abominable disgrace.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014
