I love the work ethic of the eastern europeans, and wish the welfare scum of this country were more like them. The issue i have is that they get paid in cash, then once a year fly back home and take their cash with them rather than it being spent in the UK.

As already said stop stereotyping.

I paid my Polish tradesmen (note the plural) by bank transfer.

One of them was recording everything in a book for his accounts. He had a house he had a mortgage on in the UK just like a couple of Polish guys I've worked with.

Plus there has been research around the world to show that generally immigrants to another country who stay have a tendency to be more hard working than their fellow country folk who stayed at home or return quickly.
