Trees get cancer too. In fact, just about any multicellular organism can get cancer if it lives long enough for cell division to run out of control. In other words, if you live long enough, you'll get cancer some day.Originally posted by russell View PostCarnivores have a short intestine so meat passes quickly and doesn't sit rotting in there gut, ours is similar ratio to herbivores, hence humans eating meat and animal products develop cancer, hear disease etc.And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Bacteria are in a different domain to animals:Originally posted by Mich the Tester View Post

veggie police alert!
Marmite is a yeast extract; yeast is bacteria, therefore arguably an animal. Bread contains yeast too, in fact baking bread involves killing lots of innocent little bacteria. Butter comes from milk. Vegans must not eat these things!

Plant Physiology Online: The Plant Kingdom
Bacteria are still our cousins, but much more distant ones than plants. They didn't manage to crack multcelllularism to the exent of animals and plants have for one thing, unless you include blob like entities rather than something that will chase after you. Not that plants are known for their running prowess either.Comment

You will find that vegans die too. They are usually quite miserable when it happens as they realise in their last seconds that they've missed out on a lifetime of bacon related pleasure.Originally posted by russell View PostCarnivores have a short intestine so meat passes quickly and doesn't sit rotting in there gut, ours is similar ratio to herbivores, hence humans eating meat and animal products develop cancer, hear disease etc.
We are omnivores. We can digest both meat and vegetables although we process either less well than a creature with a more specialised gut. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment
