I'm about a month behind on my council tax. Then again they haven't collected my bin for 3 weeks and I called 999 on the 14th because someone tried to stab me and I STILL haven't had a police officer turn up.
I'll probably go to prison or something.Serving religion with the contempt it deserves...Comment

I've not paid for months before... But then the Manchester council tax office is so understaffed they never notice. Its impossible to phone them and emails take 3 months to get a reply. Makes parasol IT look damn professionalCoffee's for closersComment

Not so long ago:
Me: I'm calling because you've sent me a summons for not paying council tax, yet I'm paying by direct debit.
Cherwell District Council: The direct debit mandate has expired.
Me: Shouldn't you have sent me something to tell me this?
Cherwell District Council: You would have been sent a bill with instructions on how to pay.
Me: I ignored the bill because as far as I was concerned I *was* already paying, by direct debit.
Cherwell District Council: I will send you a direct debit mandate for you to fill in, but you'll have to pay the outstanding balance by cheque.
Grrrr.Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

When I was unemployed I went to council offices to get CT reduced, easiest thing I've ever had to do with them. WHen I started working again they refusd to charge me the increased amount. I had to wait 6 months before they charged me the corretct ammount. Oh wellYour parents ruin the first half of your life and your kids ruin the second halfComment
