    As SimonMac says, Dropbox will do that and it's full integrated with your OS (at least for windows) however it is not secure when sharing a link

    Anyway, this is all completely inconsequential of the real issue... why are you trying to circumvent the mighty Apple? They've already deemed it not worth while, that should be enough for you mere user

              It also works on Linux with no problems.

              I use it to sync my work folder for this project between Linux desktop (which is backed up) and the Windows VM which isn't (client VPN means that when I connect to work, I can't connect to my local network at the same time and more)
