State-owned bank Northern Rock is set to once again offer 90pc mortgages, just three years after it was bailed out by the government.

It's not offering 90% (or even 125%) Mortgages that is/was the problem - it's getting the funds from cheap US sources that are founded on quicksand and then dry up overnight and destroy your "business model".
