    Worst pool car ever?

Yet to see the shed, but got the keys to a 57 plate 4 year old Ford Fiesta diesel with 50K’s on the clock.

Just glad it is not one of the Vauxhall Combo liveried vans which was a serious option!

What is the worst / most interesting pool car / garage loan car you have had, and why?

In the 1980s I worked for a software house where most of us got a company car.

There were two pool cars. A completely shagged out Alfa Romeo and a Skoda.

I was only ever a passenger in the Alfa; it was like a clapped-out diesel bus. It was available for anyone who needed a car but had left their own company car at home.

The Skoda was far worse. It was a pile of rusty tulipe. That was the car you were allocated when you totalled your company car while waiting for the new replacement. Every gag you ever heard about Skodas was true. An utter, utter pile of poo.

But it did keep the number of write-offs down to a manageable one-a-month or so. Which, for a software house about 140 people was par for the course. (Oh, how I loved the 1980s.)
My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.

      Vauxhall Chevette estate.

Worst hire car rented for me by employers - Vauxhall Nova. The boss was tremendously pleased that he had gone for the cheapest - he had the knack of messing you around, so I was desperate to get away. I was down for an interview 230 miles away that week, but couldn't face the journey in that thing. Aaarrgghh - that trapped feeling!

Next worst hire car while awaiting delivery of nice shiny new Cavalier - Ford Escort that stalled in morning traffic jams. The Cavalier turned out to be worth the wait but was too little to late.

The damage had been done, and within months I managed to escape from the clutches of permiedom.
Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.

When I was an apprentice at an iron foundry we had a Y reg Cortina 1.6L. Car itself was ok, just the fact it was used for ferrying people to and from hospital as well and had a blood stain on the back seat that looked like someone had bled to death on it. Not very pleasant at all!
