Because it costs to hold stock in terms of space, storage and inventory. Better to have customers pay you up front, sit on their money for 3 months and then only pay out when they receive their goods from the supplier/manufacturer.

2. Don't mind waiting for it.
3. Quality is not important.

This isn't you is it, so ******* move on and find a small retailer that:

1. Expects you to pay up front.
2. Has the sofa in stock and can deliver quickly.
3. Has good quality products at high prices.

Wait list for flat was like 15-20 years in USSR.

Tulip car was around 10 years, IF you have the money - around 10k rubles, which was around 5 annual salaries of a PhD (assuming during this period they did not eat anything and did not spend any money otherwise).

However given very long period of 0% - 4 years, and nothing to pay for first year this is a rather odd scheme clearly designed to boost sales of otherwise unaffordable items.

It is therefore totally retarded that someone with cash to pay upfront won't get a healthy discount: 30-50%.
