Next door neighbour had a whole load of new panel fencing put up round his property a couple of weeks ago. Be interesting to see how it stands up to tonight's battering as its first test. Also be interesting to find out if the early trains are working tomorrow morning, as I'm on the 0600 from Manchester to London. It will definitely be the wrong type of leaves on the line if they still have trees attached to them.Comment

It was breezy here on Wednesday night but less so tonight and I'm felling the wind chill factor, in the house. I'm going to have to put silicone round the window in this room tomorrow, to stop the draughts getting in.Comment

Bins zooming about, recycling bag escaping but captured, box has disappeared entirely. They fly quite well so not too optimistic of finding it, even though we're in a closed estate. Might just pinch one from someone who has two

My curtains are being blown about by the wind even though the windows are closed and I could feel the whole house shaking earlier. So not too bad. It seems to alternate between calm and then a periods of gusts, but maybe that's the wind direction changing.Comment

I dread to think what state the street will be in - rubbish everywhere I expect.
We've no internet access through the phone line - I'm posting this from a T-Mobile dongle.
